Already Asleep
by A. D. Tarbox
Illustrated by Julie Olson
It's bedtime and Mom is ready to put her son, John, to bed, but there he is already asleep, still wearing one muddy
shoe and dirty clothes. Of course he was tired after a full day of baseball, catching bugs, climbing trees and
playing. Daughter, Bess, was already asleep, too, with a crown on her head, and her wand resting on her dress -
a princess after a day of dolls, dresses, tulips and treats.
When Mom checks on the pets and farm animals, they, too, are already asleep, and even her husband, Lee, is
snoozing in his chair. Mom then falls asleep in her easy chair with a kitty on her lap. Author A. D. Tarbox
tells the tale in fun-to-read rhymed verse that will have the kids laughing out loud. Julie Olson is a master at
catching perfect expressions on everyone's faces with watercolor and ink. Her whimsical illustrations really bring
the story to life.
This book will be a great addition to your little ones' library and is a bedtime story they will want to hear
again and again. |
