Arthur Jumps into Fall
by Marc Brown
In Arthur Jumps into Fall, Arthur finds himself with the backyard chore of raking leaves. Where did all
those leaves come from? Even with help from his dog, Pal, Arthur realizes raking leaves is hard work. After making
a small pile, Arthur needs a break. What better way to have fun than jumping in a pile of leaves? Arthur realizes
that his short bit of fun undid his hard work, and the yard is scattered with leaves again. Arthur’s friends,
The Brain, Francine, and Buster, stop by. All offer advice - and kid power - on the best way to clean the yard.
While Arthur watches, his friends take turns raking. In short order, a gigantic pile of leaves stands in the middle
of the yard. What do the friends decide to do with a huge pile of leaves?
Arthur Jumps into Fall is another winner by author Marc Brown. The Arthur characters find ways to turn
a chore into a traditional fall time play. The book is easy to read with three or four sentences per page. I love
the Arthur series - fun characters in colorful illustrations. Little kids will want to dive into their own fun
after reading Arthur Jumps into Fall. |
