Buster Changes His Luck
Postcards from Buster
by Author/Illustrator: Marc Brown
Little Brown now has a multi-level early reader series based on Marc Brown's PBS series
Postcards from Buster. The series and the books feature Arthur's best buddy on his
trips all over the United States with his dad. In Buster Changes His Luck, Buster
and his dad visit San Francisco's Chinatown. Because this book is a Level 3 reader, there
is a fairly complicated storyline as Buster searches for snacks - which Buster fans know
are very important. Buster can't seem to find any good snacks and decides he must be cursed
with bad snack luck. Thankfully, they are in Chinatown during Chinese New Year when plenty
of lucky charms abound and Buster sets out to change his snack luck. As with the other
books in the series, real photos of children and places in Chinatown help give readers a
peek into Chinese New Year celebrations. Buster's notes and postcards to his friends add
to the book's charm and encourage letter writing. This book will definitely be a hit with
young Arthur fans. |
