Danny Is Moving
by
Annie Thiel, Ph.D
Illustrated by W. M. Edwards
Many children move at some point in their lives,
leaving behind everything familiar to them, their home, their friends
and their school. It can be very painful and even traumatic. Here
is a book to guide parents when that move happens. Communication
is the key to helping children weather this storm in their lives.
Child
psychologist, Annie Thiel Ph D. has expertly written this insightful,
entertaining story of Danny, and what happens when his family
must move. W. M. Edwards' humorous, full color illustrations tell
the story visually. This book will help you understand your child's
emotions and to help him to cope with them.
In
Danny is Moving , Danny's mother is notified that she has
been accepted for a better job, but it is in another city. Danny,
like any child, does not want to leave everything familiar.
Danny learns that his old friends will still be his friends, but
there will be new friends, and new exciting things to do.
The back of the book has a page of guidelines of
things to remember when you move, and a page of super cool stuff
to do. One of a series of books by Dr. Thiel and published by Playdate
Kids, to help parents and kids with emotional subjects, this book
should be in every school library. It would be a great bedtime story
or a conversation starter for family time.
