Mind Your Manners, B. B. Wolf

by Judy Sierra
Illustrated by J. Otto Seibold

The library is going to have a storybook tea, and the Big Bad Wolf, who is old and retired now, has received an invitation from Miss Wonderly, the librarian. Now, B. B. Wolf has never been to a tea before. He's not sure how to act, and he really doesn't think he likes tea. His good friend, the crocodile, informs him that you don't go to a tea for the tea, but for the cookies. Then the crocodile consults an etiquette book to help B. B. Wolf shape up his manners. Can a big bad wolf behave himself at a tea party? He makes up a song to help remember the finer points of good manners, then dresses in his best jacket and is off to the tea, with the admonition from the Crocodile to "smile, have a good time, and don't go biting anyone."

Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs, and the Gingerbread Boy have also been invited to the tea.

This hilarious tale is sure to keep your little ones laughing out loud at story time. I loved the colorful and zany illustrations by J. Otto Seibold. They help make the story one that you will want to read together with your children again and again. Each time you read it or just look at the pictures, you are sure to see a silly detail that you missed before.

This is a wonderful read aloud bedtime or family time story, and will give you ideas for discussion on manners as a bonus.
