Richard Scarry's Busiest Pop-Up Ever
by Richard Scarry
The Busytown characters are back, and this time Bananas Gorilla steals a whole truckload of luscious bananas. An
adult should check the book out before giving it to a child for independent use to avoid frustration. You should
make sure that all the moving parts work. In my copy, some were stuck, and some needed to be operated a couple of
times before they moved smoothly.
Sergeant Murphy is determined to catch Bananas Gorilla and they race through Busytown. Your little one will
squeal with delight at the overplus of pop-up planes, trains and automobiles. They can lift the flaps to see what
is hiding underneath, and pull the tabs to set the page in motion. The clever illustrations in this silly
adventure add visual excitement to the story. Read the text out loud, and let your child explore the moving
parts. What fun. |
