Why Am I?!

by Victor James Owner
Illustrated by H. J. Grimes

The Question We All Ask Answered Early in Picture Book

A star in search of the reasons why.

That, perhaps, is what we all are. We don't see why we are, our meaning, our destiny, for we are too close to ourselves to see clearly.

In Why Am I?!, children's author Victor James Owner explores this question in a delightful picture book published by Synergy books.

This book, illustrated in lovely pastels by H. J. Grimes, will open dialogue on the importance of developing our identity, self-confidence and appreciation for one another between tots and their adult readers.

The copyright page suggests the book is for children from 0 to 12. I believe it is better suited to children about from three to six, who will understand it, enjoy the sound of the poetry and also learn some new vocabulary words. Big sisters and brothers to about eight will find the rhyming fun and may explore the concepts it addresses at a more advanced level.

The author is associated with Disney; the quality of this book, the author's attention to details and his creative spirit reflect that experience. May this book be the first in a long line of books and licensed products for little stars.
