Audrey Penn's delightful picture book A Color Game for Chester
Raccoon is a simple tale about Chester as he observes the animals
and objects in his surroundings, but the story teaches young readers
ages two and up the basic colors.
As the child reads (or has the story read to him/her) the colors
are introduced and reinforced by the color of the animal or object
being observed.
The colors covered include white, blue, yellow, orange, brown,
black, and red. Thus after a few reading, the child will be on his/her
way to knowing the basic colors.
The story could not be told without the colorful (pun not intended)
illustrations of Barbara L. Gibson.
The Board book's durable hardbacks will be able to withstand the
treatment that young readers will give to the book.
