This is a book
for all reasons!
It entertains, it teaches, it evokes, it inspires.
I opened the package, pulled out this colorful book and began
reading it to my daughter and my 6 month old granddaughter.
They were both actively listening to the story unfold. Having
just had a baby and owner of 3 dogs, she could relate. From
the first page to the last, we smiled at Smokey the dog’s
point of view. Smokey is excited at the news of the new baby,
and after the baby comes home we get a little sad when Smokey
is no longer the center of attention. We fear that the family
is going to give him away, but, when baby learns how to treat
the dog humanely, all get on well after that. And, as a bonus,
there is an endnote of training tips to make the reader’s
home environment peaceful and harmonious. So, the book becomes
a learning tool too!
Of course, just as you suspected, my daughter
took the book home to use for her daughter when it comes time
to teach her how to treat animals.
OK,
I said it inspires. You will want to buy this one. A portion
of the profits from this book will be donated to The Humane
Society of the United States. It doesn’t get any better
than that.
It is a feel-good book for everyone in the
family. Loved it and your pet will too.
