House of Shapes
by Sarah V. Richard
House of Shapes is another educational book in Sarah V. Richard's collection, along
with books like I See Seashells and Easter Egg Coloring Fun. This one is
less a coloring/activity book like those she has written in the past as it is something
to be used interactively with children. The simple drawings, using basic shapes, and the
brief accompanying text help the child identify shapes, colors, and parts of a house.
There are additional pages at the end of the book to measure the learning provided. The
child responds to questions in the text, pointing to the doorbell, identifying what is
missing, recognizing colors, etc.
Richard developed this book for use with students in a special education classroom.
She uses it regularly with her own students. House of Shapes is appropriate for
toddlers and preschoolers or for beginning readers. |
