Jill Morgan gives a precious introduction to the book by telling us about her husband and the loving father he is. Later in her own story she writes a touching tale of a girl during 1944, who writes to her father while he is off fighting the war. Faye Kellerman tells about working in her father’s deli and the day she went through natures change. Mary Willis Walker tells about a wild day of destruction, how it haunted her and how her father took care of it. Maxine O’Callaghan writes a tale – and the most touching one as far as I’m concerned – about a girl and her poor family living in Tennesse and a father who knew how to make them feel blessed and loved. Eileen Goudge tells a spunky tale of a girl whose father is accused of being a commie because he won’t conform. Eileen Dreyer gives us a story of a plain accountant father, and a life changing baseball game. Billie Sue Mosiman tells about a chosen father and fate. Marilyn Reynolds tells of a father’s imperfections. J.A. Jance shares her father with us, and then gives us a Sheriff Joanna Brady short story called “Father’s Day.” Carole Nelson Douglas tells a touching story of her late fisherman father and the family he left behind. Noreen Ayres has story about a poor fruit picker named Darcy Ann Adams and her father – the ending will get you! And last, Diana Galbaldon tells a tale of a grown daughter who has just lost her father.

Fathers and Daughters is a wonderful book about father / daughter relationships. The reader will find a variety of stories and an array of positive and negative emotions about their relationships with their fathers, both of which I can identify.
