What a great twist to
traditional legal thrillers! Joseph Taraska does an excellent job in his
novel debut! This book is a great quick read, makes you take at look at
your own beliefs, and makes you question what you would do if you were
placed in the same situation.
This is a book about a man named David that allegedly has the spirit of
Jesus in him. He is found talking with others and trying to give out God's
message to whomever will listen to him. Through talking with others, he
has created resentment among others that led to fights for which he was
arrested. Ben, the defense attorney, who usually only takes cases where
the clients can pay for his services, agrees to take this case pro bono
after speaking with David.
Joseph Taraska does a great job in describing the trial scenes and what
each side, the prosecutor's and defense's, does to get the judge to rule
in their favor. This is very fast paced and does not allow the reader
to stop turning the pages.
