Shea Angelica McConnell was free. True, she shared her childhood home with her father, Professor Bill McConnell, and she had the sole responsibility of her small son, Everett. But she was free from her marriage to Rick Miller, who had no qualms about giving up his son, not even wanting the child to carry his name.

Shea had been born in Ireland when her parents, both Irish natives, had gone to visit family, or so her father had told her. He had also told her that her mother, Angelica, had died of ovarian cancer when Shea was two. So, why was Shea haunted by a recurring dream of finding her mother on the bathroom floor, lying naked in a pool of blood and quite dead? In her dream, she was about five years old. What did this mean?

Her father told her it was only a dream. But was it? Or was her father shielding her from a truth he was afraid would destroy her?

Closer is a book of love, obsession, betrayal and growth. The reader will follow closely as Shea uncovers the truth about her mother's death and her own past, a truth her father kept secret from her, a truth she only learned after his death. It is also a truth that could mean life or death for Shea. It is a quick, but absorbing read, one that will haunt you long after the story ends. Enjoy!
