INTO THE PATH OF GODS, Book I of the Macsen's Treasure series, began the adventures of Marcus ap Iowerth and his wife, Claerwen. Though they and Macsen's Treasure are fictional, many of the people and events described in this book are real. Set in the era leading to the rise and reign of King Arthur, this is the story of events and legends that foretold his coming.

In Book I, Marcus and Claerwen found a part of the treasure, the golden torque, and gave it to High King Aurelius Ambrosius. In Book II, Marcus is hired to unravel a plot to assassinate the king. Certain the plot is coming from Octa, a Saxon general, Marcus searches for enough proof of his involvement to justify hanging him. But Marcus finds that Pascentius, son of the dead usurper, Vortigern, is actually the main conspirator. In the process, he finds and loses Macsen's spearhead, a second part of the treasure.
Before Marcus can return to the king with the proof of Pascentius guilt, the assassin succeeds, and leaves evidence to pin the crime on Marcus. He and Claerwen are declared fugitives by the king's brother, who will now take the throne, Uther Pendragon. Can Marcus and Claerwen find the assassin and his cohorts before King Uther has them killed?

IN THE SHADOW OF DRAGONS is truly compelling as Marcus and Claerwen jump from one scrape after another in a quest that will help determine the future of Britain. They know the fragile peace they have will not hold until all of Macsen's Treasure is in the hands of a high king yet to come. They do not know from where he will come. They only know his name is Arthur. If you love Arthurian legend as I do, you won't be able to stop reading of Macsen's Treasure until you finish the fourth and final volume!
