He rose from humble beginnings to become the savior and king of Ireland. In his adventures, he is involved with three women: Fiona, the druidess with mystical powers; Diedra, beautiful victim of a Norse invader's lust; and Gormlaith, the six foot, red-haired goddess of sensuality. This is beautifully written, a marvelous blend of well-known facts and legends and the author's imagination. There are vivid descriptions of the Irish countryside. The author successfully evokes the spirit of the people and the times of 10th century Ireland. This is a must read for any reader interested in Irish history and legend.
