The Pain of Vengeance chronicles the life of Malik Coleman in his quest for equal time with his two children, an unfortunate occurrence in the bitter woes of divorce. Malik decides to take matters into his own hands and becomes a kidnapper of his children. A story told, entirely from a desperate man's perspective.

The author makes a point of stressing that fathers are parents too, which is often times forgotten in America's Courts system. This point is further compounded when the point is brought home in this fictionalized accounting of the journey Malik is forced to make with his precious son and daughter. Malik makes contact with an underground organization called Hekalu, which is designed to aid fathers in stealing their children. Founded by a lady who herself was raised in the better home of her father, himself a single parent who was forced to take matters into his own hands. His creation of an underground society has been a lifesaver. The pain and desperation that fathers face is too real and the source of many nightmares experienced by Malik. Ever the activist for fathers' rights, Malik finds himself swirled up in a tornado of negative images, and negative actions and reactions. As the back of the book says, The Pain of Vengeance will make you re-examine your views of fatherhood, a fathers' love for his children and the continued injustices fathers face. If ever a book could be classified as a "man's" book, this would be the one.

I liked the writing style of the book, very conversational and poignant. The portrayal of Malik draws you in immediately and you're hooked from page one to the end. I can't wait to follow the adventures of Malik in the follow up novel MindJacked. For a self published work, an excellent example of literature for the first time out of the box.
