A Perfect Day
By Richard Paul Evans

Robert Harlan has married a very special girl. Allyson was raised by a good man and at her father's deathbed, Robert promises to take good care of Allyson. Robert takes a job he thinks will be temporary until he writes his first break-out novel. By the time Robert realizes the job has its issues, he has a family to care for. When Allyson goes back to work, Robert writes that novel, and the two pave a road to success with loyalty and love. One wishes that could be the happy ending, but it's just the beginning. In a backdrop of freezing weather and bad choices, Robert finds himself dreading the holidays and a stranger who bears bad news with each meeting.

Just when you think everything will work out, Evans adds another twist. A Perfect Day has the same title as Robert's breakout novel, and it's interesting how Evans brings the two situations together. Robert's book about Allyson's last day with her father and the ultimate trial he - Robert - endures will have readers turning the pages with anticipation. In A Perfect Day, lessons are taught and faith is tested, making this a perfect holiday read.
