As
Always Jack
A Wartime Love Story
By Emma
Sweeney
She never knew her father. He died
before she was born. Now this grown daughter meets him through letters
from him to her mother which she just discovered. These were letters
written in World War II from a young Navy pilot from Texas to a
girl in Texas with whom he fell in love. These letters give poignant
details of the passion of love and of the fears of wartime.
Reading the letters makes one realize
what the power of letters (correspondence) can be. So much has been
lost in these times by the diminished use of this means of communication.
As Always Jack is a memorable read.
