the
five people you meet in heaven
By Mitch
Albom
Eddie's
childhood as the son of an abusive gambler left much to be desired.
His career in the military ended with an injured knee that deteriorated
with age. His childless marriage ended with the premature death
of his wife. His dreams of becoming an engineer, rather than a maintenance
man at Ruby Pier, died with his father. Why had he been born?
In order
to learn the answer, he must meet five people in heaven. The Blue
Man, an attraction at The World's Most Curious Citizens finds an
interesting way to tell Eddie that some must die in order for others
to live. The Captain teaches the true meaning of sacrifice. Ruby
explains the importance of freeing the soul from anger. Marguerite
shows Eddie true love. Tala brings the lessons altogether and introduces
Eddie to peace.
The
five people you meet in heaven is an uplifting, inspirational
novel bound to make anyone who doubts the importance of his or her
existence feel better. It reinforces the theories that there are
no random acts, and that we are all somehow connected to each other.
I highly recommend this work-just be sure to have tissues handy.
