Intimate
Reflections
Thoughts on Marriage, Motherhood, &
Life
By S.
S. Patterson
Intimate Reflections takes
a look at how a woman gained her “self” back, despite
the changes in her life. She had recently remarried and ended up
with an immediate family with several children. Due to the number
of children, she left her job and stayed home, while her new husband
worked. It provides women different ways of trying to achieve sense
in a confused world. This is meant to inspire women to regain themselves
and be true to themselves, as well as helping raise their families,
work, and be friends and wives to their husbands.
The
style of Intimate Reflections is similar to Iyanla Vanzant's
style of writing, with each day meaning a new inspirational passage,
although it does not mark each day with a new passage. Some of the
inspirational advice that Ms. Patterson gives will take longer than
a day for someone to achieve. It truly shows how one woman was able
to juggle herself, her family, and the new changes in her life.
Intimate Reflections might be inspirational to some other women
who feel lost in their complicated lives.
