Ripples in a Pond
By
Leni Matlin

When Jeremy arrived at his Aunt Dee Dee's for the summer, he was looking forward to a vacation of rest and introspection.

The past year had been a terrible trail for this young teen. He had dropped all his sports, grown away from his friends, sold his guitar and let his grades slip. His father, deep in his own grief, was no help. Jeremy's mother is the reason for their sadness and problems; she chose suicide and it deeply affected all those who loved her and were left behind.

Jeremy seems determined to continue deep in his depression. He wishes to sleep late and spend hours alone thinking and writing in his journal. This journal keeping was the one gift his mother gave him that he still cherished.

Soon Jeremy meets a bearded old man named Jude. Jude is a bit of a mystery to his neighbors but Jeremy finds peace and comfort in the old man's company.

What follows is a wonderful story of friendship and inspiration that crosses over the span of age, time and memories.

This book covers all aspects of the reading genres. There is mystery, romance, spirituality, politics, intrigue and humor all within these pages. Reading sections of this book left the reader both mystified and uplifted; I felt the emotions of each character deeply.
