The
Wedding
By Nicholas
Sparks
Read by Tom Wopat
Wilson
Lewis is an attorney who has done everything he possibly could to
prepare himself for the future--family, retirement--but the future
has caught up with him, and now he's in for the biggest overhaul
in the history of marriages. His wife Jane, daughter of Noah and
Allie Calhoun (the main characters of Sparks' "The Notebook,"
which is currently being produced into a movie starring Jim Gardner
and Ryan Gosling), is quickly falling out of love with him.
In
order to save his marriage from going down the drain, Wilson turns
to Noah for support and advice about what to do. With him having
missed their 29th anniversary and disappointing her one-too-many
times, his plan to win her over again has to be perfect, which starts
the chain of events that even Wilson himself didn't expect. Now
with their oldest daughter, Anna, wanting to get married before
Noah's health gets any worse, Wilson will have to change gears and
do something his has been wanting to do since he walked Jane to
her car--show her exactly how he feels, the way she has shown him
throughout all of their married lives.
This
is an incredible story about the evolution of love. Each character
has their own outlook on everything concerning the range of human
emotions, and the interaction between them shows the uniqueness
of how wonderful, stressful, and strange the effects of love can
be.
Tom
Wopat is well-known for his gig on "The Dukes of Hazzard,"
not to mention his amazing performances on Broadway. Wopat brings
the spark of Wilson Lewis to life in a way no other actor could.
His strong tone and animated vocal skills give the story a whole
new dimension.
I highly
recommend this audiobook.
