Are We There Yet?
By Lori Clinch
Reading Are
We There Yet is like drinking a cup of chamomile tea while
lying on a down mattress - soothing comfort feathered with ticklish
humor.
Lori
Clinch is the quintessential woman. When not writing her weekly
column for a Nebraskan newspaper, she's juggling a jam-packed life.
Her parents still book her guilt trips. Her husband occasionally
acts like a child. Her sisters-in-law clip coupons and shop with
a vengeance. Her quirky friends add spice (and competition) to her
life.
However,
her primary focus is raising four sons. She dreads the last day
of school and celebrates the end of summer recess. Homework, chores,
Christmas lists, driving lessons, and sibling rivalry - each snippet
is packed with witty candor. Whether her boys hide her scissors
or bring home dead snakes, she manages to find absurdity in every
child-rearing adventure.
Many
authors have attempted to fill Erma Bombeck's slippers, but none
have come as close as Lori Clinch. Her universal topics will strike
chords in most parents. Her straightforward style and playful wit
makes pleasant reading after a long day. Got a family-induced stress
headache? Forget the Tylenol! Grab Are We There Yet instead!
