Benjamin’s Bride
By Nancy Marie

Patricia Collingsworth, nicknamed “Mouse,” because of her mousy appearance, drives through Colorado on her way home from college. However, her trek will take her somewhere she never expected to go – somewhere dark and frightening. Father Jacob Israel has created a dangerous cult out of his own family members. Hidden from prying eyes in the wilderness, Jacob oversees his tribe with cruelty and violence. Women are taken by force and married to his sons – at Jacob’s command. Mouse is waylaid on the road and kidnapped for Jacob’s son, Benjamin. She awakes to find herself a victim of evil personified – and no way to escape the merciless life she has become a part of. But unlike the rest of his family, his father’s beliefs sicken Benjamin. He decides to rescue Mouse and himself from Jacob’s tyrannical clutches. In the meantime, Father Casey O’Flagherty and Bob “Bird” Barnes, an agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, try to reach Mouse before something happens that will bring her long journey to a horrific end.

Benjamin’s Bride is a frightening story, full of fear, fanaticism, and faith. Nancy Marie weaves a beautifully written tale about a young Christian girl who will have to draw on a strength she never knew she had, in an effort to combat an evil she never knew existed. Through a deadly struggle that threatens her very existence, Mouse will find her God, herself, and the man she is destined to love. Benjamin’s Bride is a novel that will stay tucked inside a reader’s heart for a long, long time. As with her previous novel, When You Wish Upon a Star, Nancy Marie has shown herself to be a superb storyteller who can wrap suspense up with heart and allow faith to flow through conflict.
