Forgotten
By Donna Conger
When
I began to read Forgotten, I felt as if time stood still
for me, just as it did for Sylvia, the heroine. While it is hard
to imagine what your life would be like if you suddenly had no memory
of your past--the good or the bad--the thought of such a feeling
sent shivers up and down my spine.
Can you imagine
what it would be like to move in with the man you had been told
was your husband, but who was a complete stranger to you? Forgotten
is a strong story of the two main characters’ faith, as well
as a tale of rediscovery. While Robert could tell her about their
love and their relationship the first time around, he chose not
to for some time. He decided to let her fall in love with him on
her own terms. It took an absence when Robert went overseas for
Sylvia to realize how much she had come to love him.
It did not take long until I was completely
captivated by the getting-to-know-me stage, to the trust-me stage
Sylvia and Robert went through, until it finally got to the love-me
stage.
The appearance
of Allan, their son, who was a stranger to Sylvia moved me to tears
when he said softly, "I love the new you, Mommy" and Sylvia
replied "I love you, too."
To see
the growth from strangers who had once known each other and been
in love to new-found love is far more than a mere romance; it is
a love story of the deepest kind.
I
urge anyone who questions whether or not true love exists to read
Forgotten. You will know it is alive and well. I highly recommend
this wonderful book.
