Great
Short Works of Leo Tolstoy
By Leo Tolstoy
Tolstoy
is considered to be a genius in his own right. He displayed his
knowledge of the feminine consciousness with "Anna Karenina"
and his honesty when he considered how a marriage to a young woman
would go in "The Confessional". Of course, no one can
forget what is to be considered his greatest work - "War and
Peace". Now Perennial Classics has released a compilation of
his short stories for everyone to enjoy. "The Cossacks",
"The Devil", and "Father Sergius" are just a
few of the stories included in this wonderful anthology.
Tolstoy
isn't as known now by the mass population as he used to be for anything
other than his book "War and Peace". Being an English
major, I've had the pleasure of reading some of his other works,
and I have to say that I agree with those in the literary world,
who hold him on such a high pedestal. I recommend this book for
anyone who wants to add another worthy book to their expanding literature
collection.
