Persuading Annie
By Melissa Nathan

Annie Markham was in love with Jake Mead when she was young. Then came the unpredicted pregnancy scare. Although Annie thought everything would work out fine, it turned out that the scare was just that- a scare. After Jake found out, he ran off leaving bad feelings between the two of them,. Fast forward seven years later, Annie is in the midst of her father’s deteriorating business and financial crisis.

They decide to call in a financial advisor. Annie is less than thrilled when she discovers that Jake is her father’s newly appointed financial advisor. Now,the both of them must find a way to forgive each other and move on. Unless of course, those old sparks are reignited.

Persuading Annie is a light read. The pace is fast and although predictable, there were many funny scenes that make the book worth reading. I very much enjoyed Annie and her family. It took me a little longer to warm up to Jake but when I did, I found myself very impressed with his layers. All in all, Persuading Annie is a good read.
