Riding Shotgun
15
sonic adventures from Noir Rock storyteller Steve Wynn
By Steve Wynn
The former headman
for The Dream Syndicate is making his way into the world of story
lovers everywhere. Already known for his incredible skills for making
music that speaks to the inner depths of the heart’s own rhythm,
Wynn is constantly re-proving his knowledge of what is really literature
in a dynamically genius way. With awesome guitar work and contagious
rhythms, Wynn drags us kicking and screaming into his world –
a world of renegades, James Deans, and beautiful women.
I never thought
that I would be getting a musical CD to review for this book site,
but I can see why it would be sent out to book reviewers. Each story
tells a story so enigmatic – so incredibly complex –
that the only way you’ll be able to figure it out is to listen
to it over and over and over again, but that, my friends, is the
reason why this man is a genius. All the songs have previously been
released on different albums, but with this “promo-only”
CD, Wynn’s created a pulp-fiction masterpiece.
