Tiger Lillie
By Lisa Samson
Lillie
Bauer isn't your ordinary Christian single. She loves the color
orange, bungee jumps off bridges and is partner in a business that
plans extreme weddings. With a Hungarian heritage as thick as Mulligan
Stew, Lillie has much to live up to.
She
wishes she could find the love of a lifetime, but tries to submerge
herself in living life to its fullest, loving Jesus with all her
heart, while trying to convince her abused sister to leave her dangerous
husband.
This
reviewer wishes she had read Lisa Samson's "The Church Ladies"
before reading "Tiger Lillie," because so many things
were confusing at the outset. It isn't the ordinary inspirational
novel, having in it a converted gay man, cigarette-smoking artsy
clothing designers, and other 'out of the main' characters. At first,
I found this a little disconcerting, but kept reading to find that
Samson has handled these characters with love and sensitivity.
Once
I was into it, I found the book charming, honest, and in the end,
quite riveting. I would highly recommend "Tiger Lillie"
to those who are daring enough to risk reading something different.
