Enchanter
By
David M. Dibble
Enchanter
contains a romance within a romance. First is the main story of
the American actor, Daniel Graham, who has been cast in an Italian
movie with Deidre Carson, who makes sure that Daniel is aware of
his place. The other romance is the one that is in the movie in
which Deidre and Daniel are the characters. Behind the movie, there
seems to be some mystery when things start happening, especially
after Daniel finds a human skull outside the set of the movie. There
is also a mystery behind the Count Cagliostro, the elusive producer
and script of the movie.
Mr.
Dibble creates likable characters in Daniel and Deidre. Their romance
is a little unbelievable, as one minute they like each other, the
next minute Deidre wants nothing to do with Daniel. The setting
of the little Italian town is okay, but it should be recognized
that the plot could have taken anywhere where there is a historical
nature. The mystery behind Count Cagliostro is interesting and keeps
the reader interested in Enchanter. This reader does not feel that
Enchanter is as good as Mr. Dibble's first book, Typhoon
Rising.
