The Secret Goldfish: Stories

By David Means

The Secret Goldfish: Stories is an amazing collection of 15 short stories that will compel you to go from one to the next. It will intrigue you even after you put the book down wondering if the author, David Means, has anymore short stories he would like to share. His tales are like scrapbook pages of strangers lives. While things on the surface might seem familiar to you at first they are like glimpses into places and people you do not normally encounter and hopefully you never will.

In one of the stories a man is struck by lightening seven times. He’s living out his life waiting for the eighth. Another describes people you’d never want to meet. They wander the country and work from town to town brutalizing others along the way. In yet another you will see a broken marriage and that life from a goldfish point of view. Do you have a goldfish? Do you wonder if he’s watching your life? He just might be.

The stories will make you think about the world and what is out there. The threads of life we do not normally give much thought are woven through out this book. Do the events he describes in his tales really happen? Can they? Do you believe they might? This book will make you wonder.
