Tahn
By
L A Kelly
To
Tahn Dorn, youthful mercenary and member of a robber band, it is
a typical night's work to kidnap Lady Netta while his companions
burn down her castle and kill her family. But this is his last call;
he is turning over a new leaf and this is not a kidnap but a rescue.
Several years earlier Dorn killed Lady Netta's husband, but now
he only wants to put all that behind him. With him is a ragtag band
of young children, rescued from the hands of robber baron Samis.
But how can he come to terms with his own dark past? Netta has faith
in God, but Tahn has been away from the light for too long
This is a simple but uplifting adult
fairy tale about redemption and faith. Netta has to forgive her
husband's murderer, but Tahn has the even harder task to forgive
himself. Set in a mediaeval world that is not from our past but
perfectly recognizable, this is a compelling story of the need to
love and be loved both by other people and by God. Netta has some
romantic feelings for Tahn, but this is not truly a work of romance
and belongs firmly in the Inspirational category. The tension is
in the struggle between good and evil, and reading how the various
characters grow and change (or not) is absorbing and inspiring.
The characters are convincing, and although at times I thought that
I could guess exactly what was going to happen to each one, I was
pleased to be wrong. If you enjoy Christian fiction then this is
a particularly enjoyable tale.
