At First Sight

by Nicolas Sparks
Narrated by David Aaron Baker

Six weeks ago, Jeremy and Lexie fell in love thanks to his intent to disprove the haunting lights that appeared once a year in the cemetery of a small town called Boone Creek, North Carolina. Now they face having a baby and getting married - all the while having grown from complete strangers to two people who are deeply in love in a mere month and a half. With Lexie being worried about the tongue-wagging gossips to the point of having Jeremy promise to help her keep the pregnancy a secret and Jeremy suffering from some serious writer's block due to the stress and mysterious emails about Lexie's mystifying past, suffering from "cold feet" becomes more of a simple cold compared to the stress and strain these two endure as they make their way towards their vows.

At First Sight is the sequel to True Believer. Being a huge fan of Jeremy and Lexie from the first page of the first book, I was thrilled to get the chance to review this audio. Sparks keeps his readers involved with these beloved characters and the three dimensional world they inhabit from the get-go. He starts by giving the audience a chance to catch up on how the couple got together through a character-involved summary of what happened in True Believer. The drama and emotional roller coaster ride is even more heightened in this one and be prepared to go through more than one box of tissue before you even get through the last CD.

David Aaron Baker is the narrator of this book as well as True Believer. I would recommend listening to both one after another. Baker does an incredible job connecting both books and keeping with the original vocal acting he used in the first one for this one. Sparks couldn't have found a better person to narrate such a touching tale.
