Lost and Found

by Carolyn Parkhurst
Narrated by Blair Brown

Reality television has taken over once again, only this time the world behind the cameras is on display in the roaringly hilarious story about a group of contestants on a world-wide scavenger hunt televised as the reality TV game show titled Lost and Found. Laura talks her daughter, Cassie, into trying out for the show after a shocking, life changing event makes both of them realize just how out of touch with each other they have become. Abby and Justin decide to take on the adventure, and show the world that anyone, regardless of their past, can find happiness in the love of God. Juliet and Dallas are "Where are they now?" child stars with enough hunger for the celebrity they once had to make a third world county look satiated. Each pair of contestants is required to go through a dizzying array of clue digging and puzzle solving. A rip off of shows like The Amazing Race, all the contestants on Lost and Found have their own stories behind why they’re there and what brought them to that point in life. Who will win? Ask the birds.

I love this audio! It’s the most honest, hilarious, earful about the life behind "reality" TV that I’ve come across since the craze surfaced several years ago. Realistic and charming, Parkhurst really catches the reality behind the reality in a way only a true writer can portray. I loved each of the characters equally and strongly encourage listeners to set aside enough time to listen to the whole book in as non-stop a manner as possible in order to keep track of the overlapping lives and narrators. There are a few choice words every once in a great while, but definitely not enough to worry about. Lost and Found is reality at its finest and profound comedy at its absolute best. Bravo, Parkhurst! Someone seriously needs to replace the label on the applause button with your name.

Narrated by Blair Brown, a talented and seasoned Broadway and screen star, who brings even more life and refreshing uniqueness to each character.
