Tomorrow They Will Kiss
by Eduardo Santiago
Tomorrow They Will Kiss will reach the fans of gossip and soap operas. Tomorrow They Will Kiss introduces
Graciela Altamira, a Cuban woman who is beautiful and is slighted, disliked by her fellow Cuban women who have moved
to the United States after Castro’s takeover. Caridad and Imperio are two women who have known Graciela since childhood
and know her history. While Graciela makes attempts to be one with the United States, Caridad and Imperio continually
gossip and question all of her moves.
Tomorrow They Will Kiss is full of the juicy characters that one would find in a good soap opera. Eduardo
Santiago includes a Spanish soap opera as a background and shows how sometimes life imitates art. Each character
reflects on the main character of the Spanish soap opera in their own unique characteristic way. The characters of
Caridad, Imperio, and Graciela are fun to read and believable. The setting of a small New Jersey town with a doll
factory helps show how immigrants make almost any attempt to survive in the United States. |
