Accidentally Engaged

by Mary Carter

Accidentally Engaged takes you to a place not many of us have a chance to go, the other side, the side of  tarot card readers.  Claire has known all her life that she is different and unique. Instead of pushing that part of her to the side, she has decided to embrace it by making a life for herself reading cards for people, even though her whole family thinks of her as a bit of a freak.

The story unfolds when Claire is asked by a co-worker to read the cards of an acquaintance of his... not really, but Claire doesn't know this at the time. So when Claire first meets Rachel Morgan, all Claire can see is a woman who is running away from her fiancé for no good reason. Rachel asks Claire to lie about the reading so that she can use that as a way to get out of the commitment to Jack Heron that she has made.

This is a book that makes you wonder just how many people feel the way Rachel feels about a new life choice and how unique individuals like Claire live their day-to-day lives. I found it a refreshing change and recommend it as a light hearted, yet moving story.
