Have you ever wondered what your favorite classic poems would sound like if they were read aloud by experienced poetry readers? Well, the titles of these tapes do not lie. The poems selected for these tapes are the best poems in history and are read by the most talented actors and singers such as Eric Stoltz (Part One) and Natalie Cole (Part Two).

In Part One, you hear excerpts from epic poems like Homer's Odyssey along with Shakespeare's "Sonnet 18 (Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day)" and Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven". There are even classic older poems like "The Coy Mistress," which has been deemed by many as the smoothest pick-up line in history.

In Part Two, you get a chance to hear some of the more recent poets like T.S. Eliot's "Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", and Maya Angelou's "I Shall Rise".

These are great tapes for anyone like me who loves poetry, but can't take the time to sit down and read each one over and over again just to gain its true meaning. You can pretty much do anything while listening to these wonderful poems being read. For example, I listened to them while I cleaned my room and was so entranced by them that I didn't even notice when I had finished cleaning! The interpreters (readers) of these classic poems have such magnetic voices that you can't help but be pulled into the poetry with them. I definitely recommend these tapes.
