What a great book that takes the stories of real-life couples who have been married for several years and have chosen not to have children. This book documents the choices of these couples, the reasons behind the choices, and what they have faced from their families and society.

Ms. Carroll does a great job in showing the interviews that she conducted with these couples. She shows what questions she asked and what their responses were. Some examples of these questions include: "Do you have any regrets about not having children?" "Based on your experience, what perceptions does society have about married couples like you, who have consciously chosen not to parent?" "What are the biggest positives about not having children?" "What is your love story?" There are photographs of the couples done by Krista Bartz that show these are 'normal' people and are still in love with one another.

Couples who are trying to decide whether or not they want children and are feeling pressured to have children by their friends and families, should pick up this book and realize that if they decide not to have children, they are not the only ones.
