Open
Inside the Ropes at Bethpage Black
By John
Feinstein
John
Feinstein shares the rebirth of Bethpage Black, a golf course in
New York. In superb detail, Feinsein tells how the Black, a true
public golf course, was made ready for the U.S. Open. From the moment
of its discovery to the last man out, avid golfers and readers will
see just what it takes to make a public golf course a winning golf
course and what it takes to get the U.S. Open up and running each
year.
Feinstein
tells all on some of the biggest names, some being Sergio Garcia,
Phil Mickelson, and Tiger Woods. The author is fair and honest in
his report of those putting on the U.S. Open and those playing through
to take home the trophy and the big bucks.
As I
listened to the audio book version of Open, I could only
imagine the avid golfers listening to it as a group and the room
echoing with opinions. Without a doubt, avid golf lovers will appreciate
and honor this detailed explanation on the U.S. Open and thank Feinstein
for showing the outside world the rules and regulations of the most
prestigious golf competition in the US.
