Southern Accents on Color
By Frances MacDougall with the Editors of Southern Accents

I must admit that I am not of the interior decorating persuasion. I could not tell you what chartreuse or maroon or royal blue can do for a room. However, this book shows you what each color can do.

In this book, Southern Accents on Color, the author, along with the insights of history and modern-day designers, takes the reader through a journey of color with historical perspectives, artistry, and research.

There are five chapters, with each chapter focusing on a specific color: blues, reds, greens, yellows, and neutrals. Each chapter gives descriptions of the various hues of the focus color along with examples of masterfully decorated rooms, gardens, and homes.

As a reader, I was taken aback by the sheer beauty and genius poured into not only the design of each place, but the presentation of each room or home itself. I highly recommend this book for those with an interest in interior decorating or simply viewing the impact that color makes upon the human living space.
