A
Single Step
By Heather Mills
McCartney and Pamela Cockerill
It is
only when we stop seeing the light at the end of the tunnel that
our world is filled with darkness . . .
Heather
Mills McCartney is a woman whom I hold with very high regards. I
first discovered her name when she was dating pop legend Paul McCartney.
I never considered myself one of the millions of worldwide fans
that were obsessed with anything relating to the ever-popular Beetles,
but I do recognize the band member's names, although their daily
activities usually didn't appeal to my interests. With the paparazzi
splashing her name across the tabloids, with headings such as "Why
Heather Deserves This Happiness" it intrigued me to find out
more about her true background.
Through
her own voice and words, Heather tells her life story in A Single
Step. She bravely reveals the physical abuse she suffered at
an early age, running away to a carnival, living on the streets,
and turning her life upside down to become a successful model. Tragically,
in 1993 a speeding police motorcycle struck her, the accident resulted
in her left leg being amputated. She turned this tragedy into triumph
by refusing to let this set back detour her life. She has become
a well-known spokesperson and activist for active land mines. She
founded a charitable group that is responsible for providing artificial
limbs to 27,000 people in war zones around the world. Her existence
has already changed countless lives worldwide. Hers is a true rags
to riches story, one with a fairy tale ending.
A
Single Step is sure to touch anyone's heart. This book is for
anyone who is in need of a true source of inspiration. It provides
hope and encouragement through the darkest days. Admirably, the
author's proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to
Adopt-A-Minefield. She explains the basis for writing this book
is to learn the truth about her life from her very own lips. Very
Highly Recommended.
