The
Secret Symbols of the Dollar Bill
A Closer Look at the
Hidden Magic and Meaning of the Money You Use Every Day
By David Ovason
Have you ever stood in line to buy something and pondered the events
that led up to the making of the United States Seal that is printed
on the back of the dollar bill? In “The Secret Symbols of
the Dollar Bill,” David Ovason gives readers a detailed history
of the seal as well as the theories behind where all the symbols
we now glance over without a second thought came from. Were they
influenced by the three major contributors’ connections to
the Masons? Is there some deeper, arcane meaning in their inclusion
on the seal? Was there actually a reason they were chosen or were
they just picked because they were mysterious and...nifty? Ovason
answers all these questions and more in this amazing collection
of American history and archaic knowledge.
I’ve
always been a big fan of the uncovering of America’s secrets
and jumped at the chance to review this book for many reasons. Ovason
gives a very objective, open theory about how the seal came to be
the way it is now, and why it was created the way it was. I’m
very impressed with the amount of work that went into researching
something that hasn’t been a very big topic of discussion
for many years. Nice job! Definitely worth reading.
