By Their Father’s Hand
The True Story of the Wesson Family Massacre

by Monte Francis

During the time of Scott Peterson’s trial, there was another California tragedy--several members of the Wesson family were murdered. The Wesson family was a family full of incest, abuse, and instability. On a fateful March 2004 day, several of the children were shot and their father, Marcus Wesson, was charged with their murders.

The story of Marcus Wesson and his family is very disturbing. Marcus Wesson appears to think that he is a religious figure and keeps the woman of his family close at hand. He conceived children with his daughters and nieces through manipulation. There was allegedly a secret murder/suicide pact made with the daughters and that comes into the question of what really happened on March 12, 2004.

As with many true crime novels, By Their Father’s Hand follows Marcus Wesson’s childhood, his trial, and his punishment. Monte Francis did try to get Marcus Wesson’s side of the story which was not always possible. In reading what Marcus Wesson wrote, it seems that he continues to try to manipulate people to get what he wants.

This is a debut novel for Monte Francis, and he did a good job in covering the facts and trying to get all the information that he could possibly get in covering this horrific story.
