Inspirational Reading and Poetic Rhymes
by
Evelyn Horan
Evelyn Horan
has compiled a moving anthology of her poems, essays, and stories
to inspire and entertain us. Most of Evelyn's previous books
were written for children and teens, but this one is written with
adults in mind. I love her rhyming story poems, and some of
these were actually written when Evelyn was a teenager. She has
great insight and eloquence in relating her many life's experiences.
Here she explores love and joy, along with death, danger and hardship, with
a Christian foundation that promotes virtuous living.
Her
plain and simple recollections of a long ago Christmas brought back
my own memories, and a young woman's bravery in Fifteen Minutes
'til Closing Time is inspiring. Her poem, I
Am Much Alone, was, I am just sure, written especially
for me, because it speaks to me and for me. I'm sure
you will find your own favorites in this wonderful collection, many
of which would be great for reading aloud and starting meaningful
conversations with the whole family.
Think of this
wonderful collection when you are considering a gift for someone
you love. |
