This e-book is the beginning of a series with the private investigator Hawkman, a man who had been a former agency detective.  He has a special talent for mending injured birds of prey and solving mysteries.

"The Enemy Stalks" is about Hawkman being stalked and almost killed by someone from his past.  During the story Hawkman's neighbor, Jennifer, gets involved both romantically and protectively.  The developing relationship between Hawkman and Jennifer was compelling.

This story takes place in the mountains, near a lake. The descriptions of the environment and actions were well done.  The ending had this reader anxious to see who was after Hawkman.
