TROUBLE IN TRINIDAD
is about a teenager named Kevin Wells, who is much more mature than the
average young man. He has high moral standards and respect for people
of all ages. Kevin is a member of the color guard in his ROTC class. He
is picked to carry a flag at a Trade conference to be held in Dallas at
the convention center. This is where life for Kevin will change forever.
Kevin spots a man on
the catwalk with a M2 rifle in his hands. When he turns and sees the laser
imprint dancing around the podium, he jumps in front of the Prime Minister
of Trinidad, Ahmad Shah, without even thinking. Kevin feels a sharp pain
in his back as the bullet pierces his flesh. The next thing he remembers
is waking up in Parkland Hospital only to find out that he has been in
a coma for 10 days. The prime minister later invites Kevin to Trinidad.
He accepts the invitation without realizing his life will be in grave
danger. It's terrorist suspense at its best!
Manchee is a master
at setting a mood, laying the atmosphere, and pulling you into the lives
of these truly believable and sometimes quirky characters. TROUBLE IN
TRINIDAD combines politics at its worst and a tender love story between
Kevin and Devaine Shah, the daughter of the Prime Minister.
William Manchee has
written another 5-star book and I anxiously await the next. To me, he
stands out as one of the finest writers of our time.
