This is an anthology of short stories compiled and edited by the author himself. It contains 83 stories, divided into sections: one of those miscellaneous ones previously published, some of which were MWA awards; those featuring Dave Rhodenbarr, book- selling burglar, Martin Ehrengraf, Keller,Matthew Scudder ,ex-cop; and new stories.
All are gems in themselves, but those featuring characters previously met in Block's full- length novels give the reader an opportunity to revisit well known characters.
This is an ideal "bedside book". Just the thing to pick up to read a brief experience of the exploits of a favorite Block character, although with 896 pages this might be too cumbersome a tome to balance at bedtime.
