Intervention Tempe Crabtree Mystery, No. 3 By Marilyn Meredith Golden Eagle Press February 2002 ISBN: 1891940074 Mystery Some Explicit Material Reviewed by Vickie Adkins,
MyShelf.com Tempe Crabtree is the resident
deputy of Bear Creek, and married to Hutch, the minister of the local
community church. Getting away for the weekend at a mountain lodge seems
like the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together, away from
careers. Unfortunately, bad weather sets in, stranding Tempe and Hutch at the lodge, which just happens to be filled with several eccentric guests, all related to the film industry in some fashion. When one guest is murdered, Tempe feels obligated to investigate, keep the guests at the lodge until authorities arrive, and try to maintain some semblance of order. You will find yourself interrogating every suspect right along with Tempe. With the exception of Tempe and Hutch, each guest has a motive for the murder, and a temper to go along with it. Autnor Marilyn Meredith illustrates each character clearly and vividly and her description of each meal served at the lodge made me want to run to the kitchen and start cooking. Intervention is a suspenseful story interwoven with a beautiful landscape and intriguing characters. Tempe Crabtree's Native American Yanduchi heritage is smartly interwoven with her husband's Christian emphasis. I highly recommend this quick read. |
