This book is a great continuation of the Julesburg Mystery Series. It brings back Sarah and her twin sister, Julie. This time, Sarah and Julie are in the process of renovating an abandoned theater that has a haunting mystery attached to it. Once their project has started, it is brought to abrupt halt and Sarah is left to work with Nick, the contractor, to figure out what happened.

Just like Whirlpool, the first book of the series, this has a great story line and excellent character development, though it was disappointing when the reunion between Sarah and Julie had to end. Ms. McCourtney is able to mix mystery and romance together in an appropriate manner. The setting takes a backseat to the plot. The romance between Sarah and Nick was subtle and did not take away from the mystery. The ending of the mystery had a great, totally unexpected twist.
