Lucy Greene and her husband, Carl, were doing very well due to Carl's excellent job in the biotech industry.

While on a business trip, Carl is apparently killed in a car accident. Lucy begins to question the accident when someone breaks into Carl's home office looking for his files and then his employers remove all the files from his office.

Lucy is contacted by a friend, Kevin Burns, a news reporter who had been promised a "big story" by Carl.

The "big story" involves the after-effects of biological testing which included Lucy's own brother and innocent people. The after-effects were unexplained health problems, including birth defects which killed Lucy and Carl's infant.

Kevin and Lucy, together with an ex-con, Darcy, who is trying to get the files, begin a search for the truth and uncover a conspiracy by the biotech company to cover their problems. They are pursued by a killer who has been hired by the company. Only by finding someone who knows the truth are they able to reveal the culprits.

This is the story of two strong women (Lucy and Darcy) who will stop at nothing to find the truth.

It is a well-conceived plot; the pace is fast-moving, full of twists and turns.

The possibilities of biological testing and its results are staggering and horrifying, as are the steps a company will take to cover its mistakes. The pursuit of possible links to the coverup is relentless.
